Gel culture plants arrived – C. pygmaea
The plan was to buy Cryptocoryne pygmaea from a small aquatic plant nursery. But the prize of gel culture plants was interesting so I also bought some Crypts I already have (the more the merrier, right?).
I could not find anyone else who was selling this Crypt in here. Sadly, it is quite common to sell Crypts under different names. Lets see what this Crypt truly is. I am going to give it a try in an emersed form.
Hello Dewald,
thank you for your comment. I looked at your website and related article. The thing is I don´t have it from T/C labs, but from a local aquatic plant nursery in the Czech Republic. It was advertised as C. pygmaea, but since I don´t have any experience with this (local) nursery and since no one else sells this Crypt, I wasn´t really sure about this. I will wait for a spathe to be sure.
Nice little plants; hope they will grow well!
Cryptocoryne “pigmea” is a mutation (cultivar) obtained from T/C labs of
Cryptocoryne nevilli.
