Cryptocoryne usteriana – another try

I guess it has been 2 years now since I got some C. usteriana from one tricky seller. I had doubts about its ID when I bought it, but I wanted to try it.

Now when I have met other collectors I was able to acquire C. usteriana again from someone more trustworthy. The plants come from a crowded tank, they grow one by one so they don’t have a lot of space and are still young. I expected the leaves will be more bullated and of course more red on the bottom side of leaves…and much more larger I guess. 🙂

November 2014 update!

The past few months have been busy but fruitful. My collection expanded a lot (as you can see in my Crypt-list). Most plants are freshly potted so I will wait a little bit longer to document it.

Another news:

  • Because of expansion of my collection I sold some of common species and made some space for new ones, added another 50 liter emersed box. All of my emersed setups make approx. 400 liters, more then 80 pots.
  • I also started to use LED chips more and more… 70% of my setups use LEDs.
  • A week ago I potted some Crypt Flamingo(s) and placed it into emersed setup.
  • The fruit of C. striolata ‘West Kalimantan’ I got is opening.
  • I made special boxes for several Crypts (for C. bullosa ‘Sarikei’, C. keei, C. thwaitesii ‘Kottawa’).

In next posts I will show photos of some freshly imported/bought plants. I send thanks to colleagues collectors who obtained them and sent me some.

To trade: Cryptocoryne sp. ‘Flamingo’

I have some Crypt Flamingo(s) to trade. All of them are submersed.
Pictures + plant profile here: Crypt sp. ‘Flamingo’
I am looking for Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Florida Sunset’.
Feel free to contact me on any sites mentioned here (Swap/Trade & Contact ) or directly on my email.
P.S. From time to time, I have also other Crypts to trade.

Cryptocoryne striolata (West Kalimantan) – new in my collection

As I promised I enclose photos. These were taken just few days after arrival. I was very happy to find a fruit in shipment. After all I have never seen one (just pictures). The plants are already planted and a have new leaf. I put two of them into emersed tanks, and for the last one I have created a semi-emersed box.
